Mindfulness for Culturally Responsive Educators
There’s much confusion as to what a mindful and culturally responsive classroom looks like. In this course participants are introduced to the concepts of culturally responsive teaching and mindfulness as well as provided with research based strategies and resources to help build their pedagogical practice. By the end of this course participants will be able to create, implement, and revise culturally responsive mindfulness activities into their classroom in order to promote an inclusive, enjoyable, and safe learning environment that provides the foundation for increased learning outcomes for students.
This course utilizes google classroom, google meets, jamboard, and other virtual platforms that will strengthen participants ability to confidently use virtual learning tools. Participants will complete 1-2 hours of work prior to and following each virtual synchronous session in order to fully integrate the concepts being learned into their classroom and teaching practice.
